Fundraiser to Help the Heart of Alabama Food Bank and the Aldersgate Food Pantry
The Food Bank is asking organizations and churches to assist them with their fundraising effort. Each organization is given a 15-day drive period; ours is June 16-30. Participation in this fundraiser is voluntary, but it can provide a significant benefit to our Food Pantry and the people we serve.
The fundraiser is called “Double the Dollar.” You will be receiving an email from Aldersgate that contains information about the program and how to make a donation, if you choose to do so. The email also has a link that allows you to donate to the Heart of Alabama Food Bank. If you receive a newsletter in the mail, you will find instructions that will help you to make your donation.
The money we donate goes to the Heart of Alabama Food Bank. However, for any dollar amount that is donated to the Food Bank as a result of our drive, our Food Pantry would receive a credit of double that dollar amount. For example, if Aldersgate’s drive yields $2,500 in donations to the Food Bank, our Food Pantry would receive a $5,000 food credit that the Pantry can use to buy food for needy people.
When you receive your email or mail about the Double the Dollar program, please consider a donation. The Food Bank, Aldersgate’s Food Pantry and many needy neighbors will benefit from your generosity.
