Florida Choir Tour 2009

The prayers and support of our Aldersgate family were immensely felt as we presented 11 worship service concerts June 6 through June 11 in churches, retirement homes, homeless shelters and other venues in Florida and alabama.  We worked hard sorting food at the 2nd Harvest Food Bank and also hosted a car wash, did yard work, and moved shelving and books for the Mending Hearts Ministries in Orlando.

Our most memorable experiences came from meeting and ministering to and with the people.  We were the first church to actually present a concert at the Men's Pavilion for the Coalition for the Homeless where we sang for 400 homeless men and had an outstanding experience singing for 57 teenage girls at the Teen Challenge facility in Seale, Alabama where our teens were encouraged and challenged to make right decisions and to live their lives for Christ.

We received compliments everywhere we went on the outstanding behavior and witness of our youth.  We thank you for your part in making this trip a possibility for our youth by supporting them through your prayers and gifts.

Our Sound of Spirit Youth Choir had a great experience on our eight day choir tour of Chicago.  We presented 6 worship service concerts and 3 musical concerts May 30 through June 6 in schools, churches and other venues in Chicago.  We enjoyed the mountain top experiences of seeing Chicago from the top of the John Hancock building and worshipping in the highest Chapel in North America at the Chicago Temple.  We also enjoyed seeing Chicago from the water as we took a speedboat ride on the rivers of Chicago and Lake Michigan.  We had fun at Wrigleyville, Millenium Park, Navy Pier and at the US Cellular Field (where we got to watch the White Sox play).  We had great seats to see the Broadway Musical "Wicked" and even got a chance to shop at many of the stores on Michigan Avenue.
