What's New!

On September 10, 2008, David and Pam Wideman's Sunday School Class (SSCWAN) were responsible for serving the Wednesday evening meal.  In support of the new "Greening of Aldersgate" mission, they served all of the food using REAL plates and silverware.  NO paper products were used that evening.  The dishes and silverware were washed and stored, just waiting for the next bold Sunday School class to use them.  Who is it going to be?  Thanks SSCWAN for setting a great example!

On October 10, 2008, Mission Possible Kids had a special guest.  Susan Carmichael from the Montgomery Clean City Commission came and discussed the importance of recycling and all of the different items we can recycle in the Montgomery area.  She even showed some products that were made out of recycled goods, shoes, purses, even carpet.  After the presentation, the kids made posters to show what members of Aldersgate can recycle.  Thanks, Mission Possible Kids!

The Aldersgate Youth Group is embarking on a month long cell phone drive, starting November 1, 2008 and ending December 17, 2008.  All of the cell phones collected will be donated to teh Family Sunshine Center (FSC).  The FSC will use these phones in two different ways.  Some of the phones will be given to abuse victims as an emergency telephone.  If the FSC has a surplus of phones, the phones will be sent to companies that pay money for phones.  The money obtained will be used to fund important programs at the FSC.  Please support the youth group this month as they learn more about protecting God's creation!
