Moving Ahead

In light of the seemingly unreal reality of the tragic and untimely death of our much loved pastor, Glen Pugh, several things are vital as we move ahead together as the Aldersgate family:

1. Our top priority is to love and support Carla, Hunter and Hillary Pugh. Each of us will do this individually and as a congregation. We will, with God’s help, do all that we can to love and care for them.

2. We all will want to double down on our commitment and loyalty to our church. We can do this by:

  • making every effort to be present in Sunday School and worship every Sunday
  • where we have leadership resonsibilities, carrying out those responsibilities faithfully
  • stand together in unity as the body of Christ

3. Several key church leaders and our church staff met with Dr. Robbins Sims, our District Superintendent. Rev. Emily Kincaid, Rev. Tony Jeck and Rev. Steve Badskey will be our leaders as a team as we move ahead during the next several months. Rev. Jim Dannelly has agreed to attend the church staff meeting for support and assistance as that is needed. We want to pray for and give our full support to our church staff during these challenging days.

4. As the time is appropriate, the process will unfold through which the responsible leaders of our church will be involved in consulting with the Bishop and District Superintendent regarding future pastoral leadership for our church. Annual Conference is in June. The assignment of new pastors will be effective the first of July. We will want to trust this process and be in prayer for all those who will be involved in making these decisions.

God is good...all the time...All the time...God is good.

With full confidence and faith, we rest ourselves in this affirmation of our belief in the constant and unchanging goodness of God.
